A fiber field technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cable networks and equipment to ensure high-speed internet and telecommunication services operate reliably.

Core Responsibilities

• Install, route, and terminate fiber optic cables for FTTH/FTTx, aerial, underground, and indoor deployments.
• Install and configure ONTs, routers, patch panels, and related network equipment at customer sites.
• Perform fusion splicing and fiber jointing as per technical standards.
• Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, power meter, and light source.
• Identify and troubleshoot fiber faults, signal loss, and connectivity issues.
• Maintain proper cable routing, labeling, and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures, installation standards, and company SOPs.
• Complete assigned installations and service activities within the required timelines.
