Roles & Responsibilities

1. Operate Sewing Machines
   • Operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently.
   • Perform stitching operations as per the assigned garment/component.
   • Select appropriate machine settings, thread, needle, and stitching technique.
2. Garment Stitching & Assembly
   • Stitch fabric pieces according to specifications, patterns, and production instructions.
   • Ensure proper alignment, seam allowance, and stitching sequence.
   • Handle different types of fabrics and garment components.
3. Quality Control
   • Inspect stitched garments for defects such as loose stitches, skipped stitches, uneven seams, puckering, or incorrect alignment.
   • Rectify minor stitching defects whenever possible.
   • Maintain required quality and workmanship standards.
4. Machine Maintenance
   • Perform basic cleaning, oiling, and routine maintenance of the sewing machine.
   • Identify machine issues and report major faults to the supervisor or maintenance team.
   • Ensure needles, threads, and machine parts are in proper working condition.
5. Production Targets
   • Achieve daily production targets while maintaining quality.
   • Follow the production schedule and instructions provided by the supervisor.
   • Minimise fabric, thread, and other material wastage.
6. Safety & Workplace Practices
   • Follow workplace safety rules and standard operating procedures.
   • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) wherever required.
   • Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping around the workstation.
7. Team Coordination
   • Coordinate with supervisors, quality inspectors, and other production operators.
   • Follow instructions regarding style, size, design, and production changes.
   • Maintain discipline and punctuality on the production floor.
