Librarian will be responsible for the efficient management and administration of the library, ensuring that books, journals, periodicals, reference materials and digital resources are properly maintained and readily accessible to students, faculty and staff. The Librarian will also promote reading habits, support academic requirements and maintain a well-organized, disciplined and student-friendly library environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage day-to-day library operations and maintain a systematic, student-friendly environment.
• Classify, catalogue, label, and organize books, journals, and digital resources.
• Manage book issue, return, renewal, reservation, and membership records.
• Maintain accurate accession, circulation, stock, and inventory records.
• Assist students and faculty in locating books and appropriate reference materials.
• Conduct library orientation and promote effective use of library resources.
• Encourage reading habits through book displays, reading programs, and library activities.
• Manage computerized catalogues, library software, OPAC, and digital resources where applicable.
• Conduct periodic stock verification and report missing, damaged, or obsolete resources.
• Recommend new books and educational resources based on curriculum and user requirements.
• Maintain library discipline, cleanliness, safety, and proper handling of resources.
• Prepare regular library utilization, circulation, stock, and activity reports.
