A Steel Fixer is responsible for measuring, cutting, bending, assembling, positioning, and securing steel reinforcement bars (rebar) and mesh used in concrete structures. The role ensures that reinforcement is installed accurately and safely as per engineering drawings and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, reinforcement plans, technical specifications, and bar-bending schedules.
• Measure, cut, and bend reinforcement bars and steel mesh according to required dimensions.
• Assemble and secure reinforcement cages using binding wire, clips, or approved welding methods.
• Position and secure reinforcement bars, mesh, spacers, and supporting chairs accurately within concrete formwork.
• Ensure reinforcement is properly aligned, spaced, and securely fixed before concrete placement.
• Install reinforcement for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, and other structural elements.
