Position Overview : WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) Technician

A WTG Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wind turbine generators, covering both mechanical and electrical systems, to ensure maximum uptime and safe operation of wind energy assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior technicians in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of WTGs
• Learn and perform torque checks on bolted connections (tower, nacelle, blade, hub)
• Assist in gearbox, main bearing, yaw system, and pitch system inspections
• Support lubrication and greasing of mechanical components
• Help in oil sampling and oil level checks (gearbox, hydraulic units)
• Learn to work at height (tower climbing, nacelle access) using PPE and safety harness
• Housekeeping of tower base, nacelle, and hub
• Document daily work logs and report abnormalities to supervisor
• Follow all safety protocols (LOTO, working at height, confined space)

Skills Required:

• Basic mechanical aptitude, willingness to work at heights
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, torque wrenches
• Physically fit, good stamina for climbing (80–100m towers)
• Basic English/local language communication
