Patient Care Assistant provides essential non-clinical support to patients and medical staff, ensuring patient comfort, safety, hygiene, and smooth day-to-day hospital operations. The role involves assisting patients with personal care and mobility, supporting nursing staff, maintaining cleanliness, and following hospital safety and infection-control protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and mobility.
• Safely lift, shift, and transfer patients between beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
• Monitor patients for noticeable changes in their condition and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Assist nurses with basic patient-care procedures and record vital signs as instructed.
• Prepare and maintain patient rooms, beds, and personal belongings.
• Transport laboratory samples, medicines, documents, and other materials between hospital departments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic patient-care environment.
• Follow hospital infection-control protocols, including hand hygiene, PPE usage, and proper waste disposal.
• Maintain required patient movement and activity records and support other administrative duties.
• Provide compassionate patient support, follow hospital policies, and work effectively with nursing and medical teams.
