Key Responsibilities
1. Personal Care and Hygiene Support
- Assist patients with bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, grooming, toileting, and diaper change.
- Support patient positioning, turning, and transferring (bed to chair/wheelchair, etc.).
- Change bed linens and keep patient rooms clean and comfortable.
2. Mobility and Engagement
- Assist patients in walking or transferring for physiotherapy, sunbathing, or leisure activities.
- Encourage and accompany residents to participate in day-to-day movement and recreational sessions.
3. Nutrition Support
- Serve and feed meals to residents as per dietary instructions.
- Ensure hydration and safe feeding practices are followed.
4. Monitoring and Reporting
- Observe and report any changes in the patient’s physical, emotional, or behavioral condition.
- Maintain patient records (basic care charts, feeding logs, elimination records, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Cleanliness and Safety
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in patient surroundings.
- Follow infection control and hygiene protocols while handling waste, soiled linens, and personal items.
- Respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations and alert supervisors immediately.
6. Communication and Compassion
- Listen and respond to patient needs politely and compassionately.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, especially those with limited mobility or cognitive decline.
