Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and work instructions.
• Mark, measure, cut, align, and fit steel plates, sections, and fabricated components.
• Assemble structural components, marine doors, hatches, and equipment according to specifications.
• Ensure proper alignment and dimensional accuracy during fit-up activities.
• Perform tack welding coordination with welders during assembly processes.
• Use fitting tools such as grinders, measuring instruments, clamps, and hand tools effectively.
• Conduct dimensional inspections before welding and final assembly.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with production requirements.
• Coordinate with supervisors, welders, and quality inspectors for smooth workflow.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the work area.

Required Skills

• Ability to read and understand fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, measuring tape, spirit level, and gauges.
• Experience in structural fitting and fabrication work.
• Good understanding of fit-up tolerances and alignment techniques.
• Knowledge of workshop safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
