Junior Merchandiser supports the merchandising team by managing inventory levels, analyzing sales data, and coordinating product allocation to maximize sales. Key duties include monitoring stock, analyzing bestsellers/slow-sellers, supporting buying teams with trend forecasting, and updating systems to ensure accurate inventory. They often act as a bridge between buyers, suppliers, and retail stores, playing a vital role in stock replenishment.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Stock Control: Monitoring daily inventory, managing stock intake, and ensuring products are properly allocated to stores or online channels.Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyzing weekly sales trends, tracking best/worst sellers, and generating reports to aid decision-making for future buying.Supplier Coordination: Working with vendors to track orders, manage shipments, and resolve delivery issues.Assortment Planning: Assisting in creating product assortment plans, reviewing competitor activity, and setting up product displays/pricing.System Maintenance: Updating ERP systems or, in e-commerce, using platforms like Volo to manage online inventory and site imagery.Production Support (Garment Industry): Managing sample approvals, tracking fabric/trim sourcing, and preparing Time & Action (T&A) plans.Required Skills and QualificationsAnalytical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) to manage data and analyze reports.Communication: Effective communication skills for collaborating with buying, marketing, and design teams.Organization: Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.Education & Experience: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising, business, or a related field, often with 1–3 years of experience in retail or buying.
