🎯 Job Overview
A Jewellery Wax Setter is responsible for accurately placing diamonds and gemstones into wax models as per design specifications. This role is crucial in the lost wax casting process, ensuring that stones are securely positioned before metal casting.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
- Set diamonds and gemstones of various sizes and shapes into wax replicas following design requirements.
- Inspect wax models for defects and ensure stones are securely placed to prevent movement during casting.
- Collaborate with the casting team to ensure seamless transition from wax setting to metal casting.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace and tools.
- Adhere to safety protocols to prevent damage to stones and personal injury.
🧠 Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in handling and setting gemstones into wax models.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Good eyesight and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret design specifications.
- Familiarity with tools used in wax setting, such as tweezers, wax pens, and magnifying devices.
- Basic knowledge of gemstone properties and handling.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Minimum 5th grade pass.
- Experience: Freshers with certified training or a minimum of 6 months' experience in wax setting.
- Certification: Training aligned with G&J/Q2707 by the Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India is preferred.
🧾 Work Environment
- Bench work in a workshop setting.
- Standard working hours: 6 days a week, 8 hours per day (may vary by company).
- Work from home is not applicable.
- Potential occupational hazards include eye strain .adherence to safety protocols is essential.
