Computer Hardware Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and customer-oriented Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance to users by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal workstation performance and provide end-user support in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain desktop systems, laptops, printers, and other IT hardware.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware issues (Windows OS, MS Office, etc.).

• Provide support for email configurations (Outlook, O365), VPN, and network access.

• Handle user account creation, password resets, and access permissions (Active Directory).

• Install and upgrade software and OS as per organizational standards.

• Maintain asset records and documentation of issues and solutions via ticketing tools.

• Setup and support video conferencing and remote desktop tools.

• Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level IT support or vendors.

• Perform basic network troubleshooting (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).

• Provide regular system and antivirus updates.

Skills Required:

• Good understanding of desktop/laptop hardware, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and basic networking.

• Familiarity with remote support tools (TeamViewer, AnyDesk, RDP).

• Basic knowledge of IT security, antivirus, and firewalls.

• Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, etc.

• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCP/MD-100, or similar are a plus.

• 0.6 - 1  years of relevant experience in desktop support or technical support roles.

Preferred Qualities:

• Customer-focused with a positive attitude.

• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

• Willingness to travel to user sites (if required).
