Job Summary:
A Solar Installer is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar panel systems on rooftops or ground-mounted structures. The role requires knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical skills, and safety procedures to ensure the proper functioning of solar energy systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, assemble, and maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems according to design specifications.
- Conduct site assessments to determine the best location for solar panels.
- Connect electrical components, including inverters and batteries, ensuring proper wiring and grounding.
- Test solar panels and systems for efficiency and troubleshoot any issues.
- Follow safety protocols while working at heights or with electrical systems.
- Work with engineers and project managers to complete installations efficiently.
- Maintain and repair solar energy systems when required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 6 months to 1 year in the solar industry.
- Educational Qualification: ITI / Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy (preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- Understanding of solar PV systems and electrical components.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Willingness to travel to different project sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Solar PV Installation (like NSDC Solar Technician course).
- Experience with net metering and solar inverters.
- Familiarity with grid-tied and off-grid solar systems.
